Jadakiss, front-man for the Yonkers
based trio The Lox, is reportedly quite close to joining Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella
Records roster through a deal with parent label Def Jam Records.
"It's not done. It's in the final stages, though,” said Def Jam/Roc-A-Fella
emcee/CEO Jay-Z.
“I’ve been actually trying to get Jadakiss to come to Roc-A-Fella/ Ruff Ryders
for a minute.” Jay-Z adds that he has communicated with Jadakiss’ longtime
management team Ruff Ryders in regards to “doing something really special with a
Roc-A-Fella/ Ruff Ryders collaboration.”
Jadakiss and Lox members Sheek Louch and Styles P lyrically battled Beanie Sigel
and other Roc-A-Fella artists as recently as 2001, but the camps have since
squashed any real problems.
Jadakiss has released two solo LPs through fellow Universal Records label
Interscope Records, most recently ‘Kiss of Death,’ featuring the politically
charged ‘Why?’
