What If I Told You
By: Kameleon
What if I told you … I knew you were special since we met
When my relationship ended it was you I had to get
What if I told you … I’ve loved you for some years and years that passed
Other women I have lusted, but my heart you’ve held it last
What if I told you even though we haven’t “dated” for a day
That the feelings that I have just wont seem to go away
What if I told you … at conversations end my stomachs tied in knots
I feel it’s not gon stop and I’m locked in keyless locks
What if I told you … you’re sexy, beautiful, intriguing
“We’re not” I’m believing and I’m still not leaving …
Until I’ve told you…
What if I told you… I lay in the bed and I can’t sleep.
It’s so much I want to state and ask but suffer from cold feet
I lay motionless and weak, your voice tone that makes me strong
The last night you were here I didn’t want you to go home
Then “the hug” and you were gone, spend this morning all alone
Till the evening when you call we’re making plans upon the phone
Just a reoccurring song, a nightmare on my end
To piece the words that I must, to state I’ve fallen for a friend.
What if I told you from time to time I regret the decision that I made
How I let you walk out of my life and then the field that I played
How I swayed on you should have stayed, how my heart was ripped apart
How your words revitalized me while I was on the gurney cart
Back then I didn’t know where I should start until the battle was already lost
Now I want you back in my life no matter what the cost
The black book I’m ready to toss, move in unison with you
I no longer want to be plagued with what if I told you
Because right now I’m telling you, you’re my soul mate in this life
There’s no reason for me to search further, you exhibit the qualities of my wife
At least the wife I envision, she was scripted from your mold
Why don’t you come and join me, now that you’ve been told.
