New York Radio Station Hot 97 Evicted

The SoHo building
395 Hudson St. 7th Fl.
New York, NY 10014, owned by Stuart GraBois, gave the station their eviction
notice. The news comes as no surprise to some on the eve after another shooting
outside the studios of the Hot 97 broadcast studios last week. It was April 26,
when Up and coming Brooklyn rapper Gravy was shot in the backside. He was taken
to hospital in a stable condition and expected to make a full recovery, although
has not been very cooperative with the authorities since the incident. Police
believe that the shooter was angry because the rapper refused to let him sit in
on the interview for Hot 97. Host of the Morning Show, Miss Jones, expressed her
frustration with the drama on her show the following morning, saying: “We’re
tired of you bringing your beef to our building. This is some stupid kind of
beef among nobodies.” The station has been the scene of several violent
incidents in the last few years, in particular the Game/50 Cent shootout in
February 2005, and the 2001 run-in between Foxy Brown and Lil’ Kim’s crews.
